Adidas vs Puma

Few people know the true story of the confrontation of these brands. Or... is it not just brands?
Initially, Adidas and Puma were a small firm Gebrüder Dassler. Adolf and Rudolf Dasslerov have been competing since childhood. They adored sport, and in youth it was the only way to fight among themselves.


There are many versions, why the brothers quarreled, but the main thing-in 1948 Dasslery went in different ways. Senior, Rudy, founded Puma, but Adi-Adidas (yes, it is from Adi Dassler). Around the same time, the latter appeared the famous three stripes.

Since the 50s, the cold war between the two brands began to flare up. The brothers hated each other to death. This led to fierce competition in the sports footwear market.

The brothers managed the companies until the death, so never overcoat. Many years later, in 2009, the current CEOs finally shook hands as part of the Peace One Day project. But it did not spare the company from internecine competition. Constant accusations of plagiarism, lawsuits, bribery of great sportsmen.

Today Adidas dresses  "Bayern ", Madrid  "Real ",  "Liverpool ",  "Chelsea ", "Ajax ". Such football stars as David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Andrey Shevchenko, Lionel Messi, and many others.  Puma's "Army " will be more modest, for example the best runner of the present, the Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. 

I think this competition has generated a lot of creativity. It's an extraordinary fact, isn't it?
