Fact of the day: Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne
The syndicate of High fashion (FR. Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne) is a Paris-based organization uniting Fashion houses, creating collections of Haute Couture.
Created in 1868 by the first couturier Charles Frederick Worth (Charles Frederick Worth). Initially, the Syndicate of high fashion United the salons in which the highest strata of the population dressed. The organization performed two important functions: protected the creations of designers from copying and offered the secured part of the population original and different from each other models.
Currently, only a member of this organization is entitled to call himself a couturier, who is engaged in the production of individual orders (at the same time uses at least 70% of manual labor); twice a year presents new collections, which consist of 35 models of clothes and are shown by mannequins; has its own salon in Paris, which employs at least 20 people and three permanent models.
